How to Use the Buyers' Guide

The Online Buyers’ Guide is a tool used to search for products and services within your association. There are several search tools located within the guide to help you find what you are looking for. To effectively use the guide, please read the following instructions.

Home Screen Super Categories
The first search tool is the easiest to use when navigating through the Online Buyers’ Guide (OBG). On the center screen of the home page of the OBG you will find Major Categories (Super Categories) with categories located underneath them (Subcategories). You can click on the Super Categories, which will bring you to a new page with the Subcategories listed out. Each of those categories will contain listings of companies within the guide. All you need to know is where to look. You will find companies listed alphabetically within each Subcategory. This is the easiest method if you know exactly what Super/Subcategory to look for.

Search Menu: Products/Services
If you need a more refined search and you know your Subcategory but not the Super Category, then go to the top, left-hand corner of the home page. Please select the second dropdown menu and pick the Subcategory of your choice.

Search Menu: Keyword Search
The Keyword Search Option is located in the first dropdown search menu underneath Products/Services. When selecting the Keyword Option, you need to type in the keyword that can help you find what you are looking for in the box to the right of the dropdown menu. For example, try using something simple like "security" or "business management." The search will identify companies that have similar keywords in their titles or descriptions and will pull companies from categories that include that keyword.

Search Menu: Company & Contact Name
The Company Option from the keyword menu is fairly self-explanatory. Only use this option if you know the name of the company you are looking for. You do not have to be exact in typing it out. If you get the first few letters right, the Guide will produce a few options to click on. The same goes for the Contact Name. If you know the specific person whom you want to contact, this will work exactly like the Company Name.

Search Menu: City
The City Option helps you pick the cities listed within the Guide in which you'd like to begin your search. Just pick the city to get a list of companies in that locale.

Search Menu: Radius Search
This is the newest edition to the OBG. The Radius Search is very useful for individuals who are not exactly sure what city to look in but have an idea of the area in which to conduct their search. It is also for individuals who know the area very well but do not require an entire city search to find what they are looking for. In addition to having zip codes to conduct the search, we have added the Products/Services feature to further narrow your search.

Show All Listings
This is for the person who may not know what he or she is looking and needs to go through the OBG manually to find it. All the companies within the OBG are listed alphabetically. All enhanced listings will be at the top, but after you get through them, you will find the remainder sorted A-Z.
